Courtney and her family

The Queripel family in sunny Williamsburg, VA

Founded in 2010 by Courtney Queripel, Q&Co reflects Courtney’s rich background in art and architectural history. This expertise ensures a thoughtful and considered approach to every design.

Originally from the United States, Courtney has lived abroad for nearly half her life, constantly exploring how styles evolve and how the built environments we inhabit influence our sense of identity and belonging.

Initially drawn to academia, Courtney’s path shifted when she joined the esteemed interior design firm Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler in London. Founded in the 1930s, Colefax & Fowler is one of the oldest interior design and decorating firms in Great Britain. This experience laid the groundwork for her future endeavours and collaborations with other designers in London.

During this period, Courtney and her husband Matthew, originally from South Africa, renovated several properties, which became showcases of her design philosophy. Their family home was both a living space and a design portfolio.

In 2019, Courtney re-located back to the United States, bringing her family with her, and a fresh perspective to her work. Each family member embraced this new chapter, integrating their global experiences into their everyday lives.

Returning to the UK in 2024, Q&Co reconnected with its English roots. We continue to draw inspiration from the United States, Great Britain, and South Africa, whilst taping into local influences and styles. A richer layering of worldly experience has brought the company to where it is today.

In the spring of 2025, the family welcomed a new puppy, adding even more warmth and personality to Q&Co. We have always had a canine assistant – a firm foundation for any business, and a very important support within our system.

Q&Co is dedicated to utilising local talent and resources, ensuring that each project benefits from regional expertise and craftsmanship. By tapping into our carefully vetted network of contractors, tradesmen, and artisans, we guarantee stunning results on every job.
